How to make yourself feel old...

...without even trying!

It's easy, especially if you are born in those dark days before 1980! Just walk through a university campus during orientation week. I made the mistake of doing that yesterday, on my way to the Baillieu Library to photocopy some esoteric harpsichord music. The place is crawling with eager new first year students, wide-eyed and full of enthusiasm for parties and pub crawls. Ten years ago that was me. Ten years! I am a whole decade older than them - a decade less enthusiastic and a decade more cynical...

but I don't feel any older or wiser, really.

Funnily enough, I'm a week away from 30 and I feel exactly the same - but thankfully I don't Have to go back there again.

At least until I start thinking about a Masters or something.

It's funny how it < 18 time drags, > 18 time flies.

Saw on your links that you like PostSecret - love that site.

Anyway, just saw you comment on tristans... and although I don't comment often on there or typically follow links, when bored and procrastinating I can also be nosy :)

So hey :)

Crucible, I completely agree with your observation about the way time moves on different sides of the magical age of 18... I remember when I was in high school all I wanted was to be 18, and it seemed to take forever to get there!
